Hi, I’m Adarsh Benz Lal.
I grew up in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and attended Mount Carmel Residential School through 12th grade. I then pursued my passion for media at Karunya University in Coimbatore, earning a Bachelor’s degree (engineering) in Electronics and Media Technology.
During college, I actively contributed to our in-house CampusTV as an audio engineer. As a team, we took care of the audio part in live and post-production situations. We even conducted workshops for junior students on topics like music composition and audio editing workflows. For the final year project, we made an original song and motion graphics music video to go with the song.
After graduating, I took a year to reset. I began taking on local audio gigs and releasing music under my artist name, “Tmronow.” By chance, I was selected for the civil services coaching program at an academy in my hometown. Though I didn’t crack the exam, it helped me a lot in becoming a more aware person. The training also expanded my writing abilities (or the self-belief that I can do it) immensely and compelled me to consider remote writing work, so I have enough time for my other endeavors.
I started freelance writing and quickly moved into a permanent role and then an Editor position with many more responsibilities. Throughout, I actively pursued musical passion projects. My experiences in the media industry led me to closely examine the operation of the company I work for, and I soon identified some gaps in the industry to take up my own side hustles. This is what led to the creation of Cavpy and the other brands under it. Now I actively work on OddPlug, Artist Hello, and Pwoli.Club, also with some college friends I’ve started setting up a media agency, it’s still in its staring stages and I’m reporting its progress in this blog.
